“Matchandeul” is a pork belly barbeque restaurant in Jeongja-dong. Our family goes there almost every time when there are some special events going on. Many people come there at night time and have some alcohol, so it is better to be there at lunch time. If you see the exterior of the building, it looks just like some other restaurants: black colors with a huge neon sign. The parking lot was a little uncomfortable because the entrances were very narrow, and on the way to get out, there were many cigarettes. Inside the building was refined with clean furniture. At the entrance, there were some arcade machines for raffles. After a few minutes of waiting, the hostess led us to one of the seats. The workers were kind enough to ask us about the needs of an apron and a mask pocket, and poured some hot water on a spoon and chopsticks for secondary sterilization. The seat was very comfortable, and it was able to keep the jackets inside the seat. There were many side dishes on the table, and the servers were kind. They told us many things about the menus, and we were ready to have some meal.
Our family ordered what we usually eat, a four-person recommendation set, but every meat is changed into a pork belly, also known as samgyopsal. Inside the set, there are hundred grams of meat, bean paste stew, and a kimchi stew. Also, we ordered ten slices of cheese and three bowls of rice. The best thing about this restaurant is that workers there cook meat for us. If you just smell those delicious samgyopsal, then you will just become hungry. For service, they give sliced cheese to each person. They melt both sides, and put it on the meat. It is just fantastic, which is the reason that makes me order ten slices. The meat was just like the others, but it was in a good condition and it didn’t have any yucky smells. There are many side menus that taste delectable with samgyopsal. My favorite combination is a samgyopsal with sliced cheese and aged kimchi. You should try to eat it like this someday. Also, if you grill an aged kimchi for a few minutes, it becomes more delicious. I rate both of this samgyopsal and the restaurant 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to eat samgyopsal with many other side dishes.
